Scrollingo Terms of Use

Version 1.0 • last updated 6 November 2026

1. General provisions

  1. These terms of use (the “Terms”) set out the rules for using the Scrollingo mobile app (the “App”) and the services provided electronically through it. They are the terms referred to in Article 8 of the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on Providing Services by Electronic Means.
  2. The App is provided by Damian Płatek, doing business as IntellisoTech Damian Płatek, ul. Wizjonerów 6/180, 31-356 Kraków, Poland, entered in the Polish Central Register and Information on Economic Activity, tax ID (NIP) 9442201088, REGON 369437231 (the “Provider”).
  3. The Provider can be contacted:
  4. Help and answers to frequently asked questions are available on the Support page.
  5. Before using the App, the User should read these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Using the App constitutes acceptance of these Terms.

2. Description of the App

  1. The App combines two functions: limiting the time spent in apps that distract the User, and learning foreign-language vocabulary.
  2. The User chooses apps that the App blocks using Apple’s Screen Time. Unlocking them requires completing a run of flashcards with words in the selected language. Once the set number of flashcards has been answered correctly, the blocked apps become available for a set time, after which the block is restored automatically.
  3. The App is not affiliated with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, X, Reddit or any other app the User may block. Their names are trademarks of their respective owners.

3. Definitions

4. Technical requirements

  1. Using the App requires:
    • an iPhone with iOS 17 or later,
    • an Apple Account allowing the App to be downloaded and the Subscription to be purchased,
    • consent to the App’s access to Screen Time,
    • internet access when purchasing, renewing and restoring the Subscription; learning does not require internet access.
  2. Consent to notifications is not required. Without it, the App does not send reminders about the end of an unlock or about learning.
  3. Data transmission costs are borne by the User in accordance with their carrier’s tariff.
  4. Using services provided electronically carries general risks, in particular malware and phishing. The Provider recommends using the current version of iOS.

5. Conclusion of the Agreement and use of the App

  1. The App is available free of charge in the App Store. The Agreement is concluded for an indefinite period when the App is first launched.
  2. Using the App does not require creating an account or providing an email address. The User’s settings, progress and streaks are stored only on their device. The Provider has no access to them and cannot restore them. Deleting the App permanently deletes this data.
  3. The App is intended for persons aged 13 and over. Minors may use the App with the knowledge and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
  4. The purchase of a Subscription by a minor requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian, in particular through Apple’s “Ask to Buy” feature in Family Sharing.
  5. The User may terminate the Agreement at any time by deleting the App from their device. Deleting the App does not cancel the Subscription (section 7.6).

6. App blocking and Strict Mode

  1. In the App, the User selects the language and level, the apps to block, the number of flashcards required to unlock them and the length of the unlock.
  2. The User selects the apps to block in Apple’s system picker. The Provider does not receive information about which apps have been selected.
  3. Blocks are applied and removed by iOS. The Provider does not guarantee that the system will do so immediately and in all circumstances, in particular in the event of system errors, changes made by Apple or revocation of consent to Screen Time access.
  4. The User may revoke consent to Screen Time access at any time in iOS settings, which causes blocking to stop.
  5. Strict Mode is a set of restrictions that the User voluntarily imposes on themselves. During the hours set by the User, the rules may only be made stricter, the number and length of unlocks are limited, and the mode can be turned off only after those hours have ended. By enabling Strict Mode, the User accepts these restrictions.
  6. The User decides which apps to block and should not block apps that may need to be used without delay for work, health or safety. The App does not affect the ability to make emergency calls.
  7. The App is not a parental control tool and is not intended for monitoring other people.

7. Subscription and payments

  1. Full use of the App requires an active Scrollingo Unlimited Subscription, weekly or annual. Without a Subscription, the User can view the introduction and the offer.
  2. Current plans, prices and Free Trial terms are presented before purchase in the App and in the App Store. Prices are shown in the currency and with the taxes applicable to the country of the User’s Apple Account. The final price is displayed by the App Store before the purchase is confirmed.
  3. The Free Trial is available once, under App Store rules.
  4. The Subscription is billed by Apple under the App Store terms. The Provider does not receive the User’s payment card details or other payment information.
  5. The Subscription renews automatically for a further period of the same length unless the User turns off automatic renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If the User does not cancel the Subscription at least 24 hours before the end of the Free Trial, the paid period begins when the trial ends and Apple charges the fee.
  6. The Subscription can be cancelled in the Apple Account settings (Settings → name → Subscriptions) or in the App using “Manage plan”. After cancellation, access continues until the end of the paid period.
  7. A Subscription purchased with the same Apple Account can be restored on another device using “Restore purchases”.
  8. Apple informs the User of Subscription price changes under App Store rules. A price change does not apply to a period already paid for.

8. Right of withdrawal and refunds

  1. A Consumer may withdraw from the Subscription agreement without giving reasons within 14 days of its conclusion, that is, from the date of purchase of the Subscription, including the start of a Free Trial.
  2. If the Consumer requested the paid service to begin before the end of the withdrawal period, upon withdrawal they must pay for the service in proportion to the period of use up to the withdrawal. The Free Trial is free of charge.
  3. A statement of withdrawal may be submitted through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or to the Provider by email or post, in any form, including the model withdrawal form. It is sufficient to send the statement before the deadline. The Provider promptly confirms receipt by email.
  4. Refunds for App Store purchases are made by Apple, in particular on request submitted at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a refund through Apple is not possible and the amount is due from the Provider, the Provider refunds it by bank transfer within 14 days of receiving the statement.

9. Complaints

  1. The Provider is responsible for the conformity of the service with the Agreement throughout its supply, under the Consumer Rights Act.
  2. Complaints may be submitted by email to support@scrollingo.app or by post to the Provider’s address. A complaint should describe the problem. A complaint may also be sent from the App (Settings → Support); the message then includes the support ID and technical information that facilitates its handling.
  3. The Provider handles a complaint within 14 days of receipt and replies by email or in the manner in which the complaint was submitted.
  4. If the service does not conform with the Agreement, the Consumer may request that it be brought into conformity. If this is impossible or disproportionately costly, the Provider has not brought the service into conformity within a reasonable time, the lack of conformity persists or is significant, the Consumer may request a price reduction or withdraw from the Agreement (Article 43m of the Consumer Rights Act).
  5. Matters concerning payments made in the App Store, including refund requests, are handled by Apple. Requests are submitted at reportaproblem.apple.com. This does not prevent the User from submitting a complaint to the Provider about how the App works.
  6. The Provider handles complaints from Businesses within 21 days of receipt.

10. Acceptable use and licence

  1. The User undertakes to use the App in accordance with the law and these Terms. In particular, it is prohibited to circumvent the App’s protections and Subscription checks, to copy its content, including word decks, in bulk, and to resell access to the App.
  2. The App, its name, logo, the Locky mascot, graphics, texts, word decks and code are protected under the Polish Act of 4 February 1994 on Copyright and Related Rights.
  3. The Provider grants the User a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for their own non-commercial purposes on Apple devices that the User owns or controls, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the App Store terms, including Family Sharing, for the duration of the Agreement. The licence does not include the right to grant sublicences.

11. Liability

  1. Flashcards and explanations are prepared with due care but may contain errors. Errors may be reported to support@scrollingo.app.
  2. The Provider does not guarantee any particular learning results or any particular reduction in the time spent in other apps.
  3. To the extent permitted by law, the Provider is not liable for the operation or unavailability of Apple services (App Store, Screen Time, notifications), the consequences of blocking apps selected by the User, loss of data resulting from deleting the App or changing devices, or interruptions caused by force majeure.
  4. These Terms do not exclude or limit the rights of Consumers under the law.
  5. Towards Businesses, the Provider is not liable for lost profits, and its liability is limited to the amount paid for the Subscription in the preceding 12 months. This limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally.

12. Changes to the App

  1. The Provider makes App updates available through the App Store. Maintaining the conformity of the service with the Agreement may require installing updates.
  2. The Provider may change the App for justified reasons, in particular to adapt it to new versions of iOS, to introduce new or improve existing features, or to comply with a legal obligation. Such changes do not involve additional costs for the User.
  3. If a change significantly and negatively affects a Consumer’s access to the service, the Provider announces it in the App at least 7 days in advance. In that case the Consumer may terminate the Agreement free of charge within 30 days of the change and receive a pro-rata refund for any unused period.
  4. The Provider may stop making the App available for important reasons, announcing this in the App and on scrollingo.app at least 30 days in advance. In that case Subscriptions are no longer renewed and the User is entitled to a pro-rata refund for any unused paid period.

13. Changes to these Terms

  1. The Provider may change these Terms for important reasons, in particular changes in the law, changes to the App’s features or payment rules, changes to Apple’s services, security reasons or changes to the Provider’s details.
  2. The amended Terms are published on scrollingo.app and announced in the App at least 14 days before they take effect.
  3. A User who does not accept the changes may terminate the Agreement before they take effect by deleting the App and cancelling the Subscription. Changes have no retroactive effect and do not affect the User’s rights to a paid period.

14. Apple-specific terms

  1. The Agreement is concluded between the User and the Provider only, not with Apple. The Provider, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
  2. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the App. Support is provided by the Provider (section 1.3).
  3. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, the User may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. Any other claims relating to such a failure are handled by the Provider.
  4. The Provider, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by the User or a third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  5. If a third party claims that the App or the User’s use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, the Provider, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  6. The User represents that they are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that they are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  7. When using the App, the User must comply with applicable third-party terms, including the App Store terms.
  8. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon the User’s acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against the User as a third-party beneficiary.

15. Dispute resolution and governing law

  1. The Provider seeks to resolve disputes amicably.
  2. A Consumer may use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, in particular the assistance of a municipal or district consumer ombudsman, or mediation or arbitration at a regional Trade Inspection office. Information is available at uokik.gov.pl. A Consumer from another European Union country may contact the European Consumer Centre in their country.
  3. These Terms are governed by Polish law. This choice of law does not deprive a Consumer whose habitual residence is in another country of the protection afforded by the mandatory laws of that country.
  4. Disputes with Businesses are resolved by the court competent for the Provider’s registered place of business. Disputes with Consumers are resolved by the court competent under general rules.

16. Final provisions

  1. Information on the processing of personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
  2. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force.
  3. These Terms are available in Polish, English and Spanish. In case of discrepancies, the Polish version prevails, unless mandatory laws applicable to the Consumer provide otherwise.
  4. Matters not governed by these Terms are subject to Polish law, in particular the Civil Code, the Consumer Rights Act and the Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means.
  5. These Terms are made available free of charge at scrollingo.app/terms and in the App (Settings), in a form that allows them to be downloaded, saved and printed.
